Touching Lives for Christ is a short-term mission’s organization that was founded in 1987 at Hobe Sound, Florida, with a mission to reach young people. The goal was to send them to foreign and domestic mission environments to give them am opportunity to serve and to be served. We have sent young people to approximately one hundred different countries in every hemisphere to spread the message of salvation through many different means of ministry. Some of our ministry-functions have included building churches in remote areas, light maintenance, Vacation Bible schools, clinic work, preaching and teaching, orphanages, literature distribution and encouragement of missionaries all over the world.

One of the unique aspects of TLC is the boot camp preparation before our teams reach their field of service. This one week of intense class time and work prepares the team to accomplish the task that they have been assigned to in their country. Many of our young people talk about the immense impact that this week has on their lives and that it helps to unify them with their team members before arriving on the field.

Before embarking on their mission the local church in Hobe Sound joins together in a special commissioning service to bless each participant and to encourage them to accomplish their ministry with God’s will steadfastly in mind. This is a sacred service that no one will ever forget, as often God comes and uniquely blesses us with His divine presence.
